The obstacle course turns Speed into wins in 1 Speed Monkey Escape. Use the obstacle type to diagnose the failure. More Speed solves reach; it does not automatically solve alignment, braking, or a moving hazard’s timing.
Vertical and directional boosters
Scout the boost below maximum pace. Identify where the launch begins and where a safe landing should be. Enter on a straight line with the camera centered on the destination. Holding a turn through the boost can add sideways movement that becomes difficult to correct at high Speed.
The lobby’s tall left booster leads to a ledge containing a Sunken Shard. Stage 4’s opening vertical boosters lead to the upper route and another shard before Stage 5. In both cases, stabilize after landing before continuing. If you consistently fall short, train Speed; if you pass the ledge, release input earlier.
Stage 3’s right booster near the end is a reach-and-drop problem. Build enough pace to get over it, then move behind the large wooden block. Do not confuse a deliberate drop behind the landmark with a failed normal landing.
Floating and narrow platforms
Aim for the middle, not the edge. Rotate the camera before takeoff, use one clean movement line, and release before the far side. At higher Speed, reduce the final correction rather than steering harder in flight.
Stage 6’s shard route uses the first and second center platforms. Land on the second, stop, and inspect below the edge before dropping. Stage 7’s green-platform area contains one shard on the middle platform and another on a small ledge beside the last platform. Treat the side ledge as a separate low-input movement problem.
If a platform is reachable but inconsistent, practice without collecting. A stable center landing creates a safe setup for the off-path action.
Wall approaches and exits
Set the camera toward the exit before contact. Approach the wall from a repeatable mark, hold a deliberate travel direction, and decide where to leave the surface. Excess Speed shortens the time for that decision, so more training can worsen an exit-timing problem.
A short miss after a clean line supports more reach. A sideways miss supports camera correction. Passing the exit supports earlier release. Touching the wall but dropping before the landing supports contact or jump timing. Use Wall Jumping for the full sequence.
Practice one easier wall or booster twice before retrying a difficult late-stage transition. Consistency transfers better than a lucky launch.
Intentional drops and recovery
The Stage 2 shard lies below a left-side pillar; current guides describe collecting it during the fall. The Stage 6 shard also sits below a platform edge. Confirm the collectible visually before leaving safety, then check the count immediately after contact or respawn.
Do not try to preserve a normal clear after an intentional drop if the route does not support it. Decide before the run whether the objective is collection or completion. This prevents a successful shard pickup from being judged as a failed stage attempt.
If a fall returns the avatar far back, include that recovery cost when deciding whether to collect now or later. A late-stage collectible can wait until the route is reliable.
Tsunami waves and moving hazards
Stage 9’s documented shard route crosses to the third center platform while tsunami waves move through the area. Wait through one full cycle from safety. Choose a departure window that leaves time to land, stabilize, and reach the right corner before the next wave.
When a wave hits after a centered landing, adjust timing, not Speed. When the platform itself remains short from a clean line, build reach. When the avatar falls from the far edge before the wave arrives, release movement earlier.
After an update, hazard speed or spacing may change. Test one cycle and record the date rather than relying on an old countdown.
